Trainmates budded from one of the last compartments of the Thrissur – Calicut Passenger Train, where the founding five: Mr. Chandran K, Mr. Balakrishnan KG, Mr. Dharman MV, Mr. Nandanan K and Mr. Achukkuttan TA, gathered for their commutation to the workplace. To escape the monotony of the daily trips, interactions started, and then it fledged into daily club meetings in the compartment. The rest of the members were drawn to the jolly festivities inside. Trainmates was originally a gathering of passengers from the scenic Thrissur-Nilambur – Calicut – Palakkad routes. Pleasant routes, pleasant relations, and blossoming friendships defined the first few years. The ideal of companionship evolved.
